Andrew Garcia is performing a signature Elvis Presley song "Hound Dog". Andrew discussed with Adam about being labeled as "boring". Adam Lambert showed him tips to own the song. However, it feels that Andrew Garcia failed to nail the song for me. It was kind of boring and the melody was slowed down.

Randy Jackson didn't like it because it sounded karaoke. Ellen DeGeneres thought the song needs a little more swagger but she liked liked it. Kara agreed with Ellen - they were expecting more from them because "it's Elvis". Simon thought it was a "lazy" performance and it didn't feel like a star performance. Andrew Garcia is showing us his version of Forever by Chris Brown. In the practice session, Usher sees that Andrew is nervous. Watching Andrew Garcia on stage doing a complete remake of a Chris Brown song, I think there's a good vibe in the song which will put him out of danger of going home this week.

Randy Jackson exclaimed that Andrew Garcia is back and this is his best performance in a long time. Ellen Degeneres thinks it was good. Kara says it was a one giant leap. Simon tells him is he is miles,miles better. As a person, Simon says that Andrew is boring as a person. He advices him to start having a personality. Andrew Garcia will impress us with "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" by Marvin Gaye. Miley Cyrus suggested to him to lose the guitar.

Randy and Ellen did not like the song choice - finds him teetering in the competition. Kara Dioguardi thinks that Andrew is confused. Simon decided that they "overrated" his "Straight Up" performances. It was a ruined choice and made the song sound corny. Andrew Garcia Hollywood Week - Straight Up

Indeed, Andrew Garcia is one guy we'll be expecting to make it in the American Idol 9 Top 24. He's got a good vibe that kinds of remind us of Danny Gokey last year. Plus he concocted an exciting acoustic rendition of Paula Abdul's Straight Up rocked the judges.

Andrew Garcia instantly gained raves from the judges. Kara Dioguardi said that his performance was a "genius" and that he "interpreted" a song "similar to what Adam did last year" as he flipped the song to own it. He makes it to the next round obviously. Just watch the video below:

Andrew Garcia American Idol Audtion Sunday Morning

Andrew Garcia is rumored to be one of the contenders in the American Idol Top 24 leaked list. Seeing his commendable Los Angeles audition tonight, we're not disappointed with his soulful performance of Maroon 5's "Sunday Morning".

Andrew wowed even Simon Cowell who dubbed the 23 year old aspiring singer as a "only person who's walked through today who... (he) genuinely believed to be a good singer". With four yeses, Andrew Garcia is sure to be in the Hollywood round. We sort of remind him Danny Gokey last year. Will he be in the American Idol 9 Top 12?
